Douglas Saboe
Hair Designer, Esthetician, Salon Owner
I am highly trained in every aspect of
cosmetology the science of the Hair, Skin and
Nails. However, at this point in my career,
my major focus has been on the science of hair,
make-up application and hair removal upon the
face only.
My education and training occurred at American
School of Beauty, Salvador's College of
Cosmetology and finally La James School of Beauty
in Des Moines, Iowa. I graduated with a
completed thirty-two hundred hours of
education. My continuing education over the
past twenty-five years has consisted of specialty
classes for learning the techniques of cutting
hair with implements such as shears, razor and
clippers. Additionally, I have taken
several specialty classes throughout the nation
which helped to advance and refine my skills in
such areas as color correction, highlighting,
color placement, esthetics, wigs, extensions,
hair loss treatment, up-do's and multiple
product-based training. Within my
twenty-five years of experience, I have literally
attended hundreds of classes.
The past four years I have been volunteering at
Ronald McDonald House and Children's
Hospital. At Ronald McDonald House I helped
design their personal salon and found donors
whose contributions helped to furnish and supply
the entire salon. I created a volunteer program
which now has nine to eleven stylists who provide
hair services for the family members who are
staying at the Ronald McDonald House San Diego
while their child is across the street at the
Children's Hospital.
For the past three years, in conjunction with
five other San Diego based salons, I have
organized an annual Cut-A-Thon benefit to help
fund the Ronald McDonald House San Diego and its
salon.
Being a Hair Designer is a fun job and I believe the salon experience should be relaxing, worry-free and attitude-free.
